About Mark Jackson

Mark D. Jackson, a Nashville native, has worked in the film and TV industry for over 20 years. He has produced, directed, and edited a wide variety of independent film projects, commercials, industrials, corporate video, television shows, music videos, documentaries, and marketing projects. He has freelanced for MTV, BET, CMT, TBN, and ESPN just to name a few.

Mark is also an award winning Producer, Director and Editor. His shorts and feature films as well as his Corporate productions have won several film festivals around the US.

He was also one of the Producers on the awarding winning feature film, “He Ain’t Heavy: Pledging Underground”, the 2012 Nashville Film Festival’s “Tennessee Spirit” award winner.

Mr. Jackson is a proud graduate of Tennessee State University, where he obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in television production. In addition, Mark has taken numerous seminars and workshops in film and video production. He has completed filmmaking programs at The Workshops in Rockport, Maine, UCLA, and Video Symphony in Burbank, CA.

In 1996, he made his feature film debut as one of Spike Lee’s assistants on “Get On the Bus.” Currently Mark is the Producer, Director, and CEO of Above The Mark Productions in Nashville, TN.
